The UK Ministry of Defence and Austa Westland agreed a contract in 2011 to design and develop an integrated training solution which included the building and equipping of a new modern training centre of the AW159 Lynx Wildcat helicopter.
The training centre is located at RNAS Yeovilton, alongside Royal Navy and British Army AW159 Lynx Wildcat squadrons. The facility will provide training courses for Army aircrew and maintainers starting in January 2013.
The Wildcat Training Facility will be equipped to provide air crew and maintainer training using a wide range of synthetic training technology including two full mission Simulators, a Flight training device and a Cockpit Procedure trainer.
The Mechanical services required for the new training facility were designed by Consultants Hoare Lea. Lorne Stewart were the successful contractors who awarded Smedegaard the order to provide the Pumps, Pressurisation Sets, and Cold Water Booster sets for this project.
Smedegaard have always promoted the fact that they are ideally placed to provide the complete package of equipment that is generally required on todays Commercial and Industrial heating and Mechanical services projects i.e Pumps, Pressurisation sets and Cold Water Booster sets.
On the Wildcat Training Facility Smedegaard provided glandless Integral inverter driven SimFlex Pumps, glanded Omega ECOFlexx Pumps with integral inverters and glanded end suction NMS ECOFlexx Pumps, also fitted with integral inverters.
The Pressurisation sets provided were the compact wallmounted WallPress ECO range. The Cold Water Booster sets were the well established ExeFlexx models that incorporated highly efficient multistage pump with integral inverters.
